Legal
Terms
Mehfilbox is operated by MEHFILBOX DIGITAL LLP (LLPIN ADC-9901), a limited liability partnership incorporated in India under the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008, with its registered office at Flat No. 302, A-Block, Alpine Eco Apartments, Mahadevapura, Bengaluru 560048, Karnataka, India. “Mehfilbox”, “we” and “us” in these terms mean MEHFILBOX DIGITAL LLP. By creating an account, buying anything on Mehfilbox, or accepting a catalogue handed over to you, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy.
These terms cover studios using Mehfilbox to deliver catalogues of an occasion — a wedding, a birthday, a naming ceremony, a company’s event or anything else — the clients who receive them, and a client who signs up directly, with no studio at all.
In these terms, “catalogue” means the private page of films and photographs made on Mehfilbox for one occasion. “Studio” means the business that makes it. “Client” means the person, family or organisation it is made for: whoever the studio hands it over to, or whoever starts one directly with no studio. “Guest” means anyone a catalogue is shared with.
Who may use Mehfilbox
You must be at least eighteen and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law to hold an account. If you use Mehfilbox for a business, you confirm you have authority to bind it. Keep your sign-in to yourself: you are responsible for what is done through your account, and a studio is responsible for the people it adds to its team.
Two separate agreements
Whatever you and your studio agreed — what would be filmed, how it would be edited, when it would be ready, and what either of you owes the other — is between you and your studio. Mehfilbox is not a party to it. Our own agreement, the one these terms are, is with whoever pays us: the studio for the platform it uses to deliver, or you directly if you signed up with no studio. Think of it the way you would a photographer and the printing lab they use — you hired the photographer; the lab has its own, separate arrangement with the photographer, and never with you.
Who the customer is
The studio, for a catalogue it makes. Every charge — the studio plan, a delivery, a renewal, archive — is invoiced to the studio, which is free to bill its client whatever it chooses. We do not market Mehfilbox to a studio’s own clients, and a client who arrives with no studio is offered the choice to invite one rather than a sale aimed at cutting theirs out.
You, for a catalogue that is yours alone. A catalogue you start yourself with no studio is billed to you directly, at the same list price anyone pays. Once a studio hands a catalogue over, the studio is still billed for it by default, and you may also renew it yourself, at that list price, whenever you choose — a studio’s own price for the identical product is lower, which is what keeps going through a studio the better choice, not merely the required one.
What you own, and what you let us do with it
The films and photographs remain the studio’s and the client’s. You give us only the permission the service needs: to store them, make copies at the sizes and qualities a phone or a TV needs, translate a catalogue’s text into the languages you turn on, and show them to the people the catalogue is shared with. We claim no other right, and never use them to promote Mehfilbox without asking first.
Editing and arranging the catalogue is whoever currently holds it — the studio, while it is preparing one, or the client, once they have started one of their own. Ownership of the catalogue itself moves to the client once the studio hands it over, accepted on the client’s own word, not before: from that point the catalogue is theirs, the studio keeps no editing access unless the client opens one themselves, and the studio remains who Mehfilbox bills for it by default.
The Mehfilbox name, software, themes and design are ours. A studio may show its own name and branding on its catalogues; that does not give it rights in Mehfilbox’s own.
What may not be uploaded
Whoever uploads to a catalogue — a studio, a client, or a guest sending a photograph — confirms they have the right to it and the agreement of the people shown in it. Nothing may be uploaded or shared on Mehfilbox that:
- belongs to someone else and is used without their permission;
- is obscene, sexually explicit, or harmful to a child in any way, or invades someone’s bodily privacy;
- harasses, threatens, defames or impersonates anyone, or promotes hatred or violence;
- is otherwise unlawful in India, or threatens India’s security or public order;
- contains malicious software, or is meant to disrupt, overload or get around the security of Mehfilbox.
We do not review catalogues before they go live. When we are told about content that breaks these rules — by the person shown, by anyone affected, or by a court or government order — we may remove it or disable access to it, and act within the time Indian law sets for that kind of request. Report it to the grievance officer (below).
When a catalogue is about a child
A naming ceremony, a birthday or a baby shower is often about a child. A client making or receiving such a catalogue does so as, or with the agreement of, the child’s parent or guardian, and decides who may see it. A parent or guardian may ask us to take down a photograph or film of their child at any time (see Privacy).
If you and your studio disagree about what was delivered
That is a matter between you and your studio, not one Mehfilbox resolves. What we do keep is a technical record, taken the moment a handover is accepted, of exactly what the catalogue contained then — which films and photographs were live, and the branding and layout at that time. It answers whether anything has changed since; it is not a record of what either of you agreed to beforehand, and Mehfilbox makes no finding about that agreement.
Payment and taxes
Prices are in Indian rupees, read from our current price list and shown before you pay. Any GST that applies is shown at checkout. Payments are taken through Razorpay; a purchase takes effect once the payment is confirmed, and a receipt is sent by email.
Refunds and cancellation
Within seven days of buying, you may ask for a full refund of anything unused — credits none of which has been spent, or a plan or membership whose included credits are all still unspent and with which nothing has been published. A purchase that takes effect the moment it is applied — a renewal, extra storage, archive — counts as used from that moment. Once anything bought has been used, or after seven days, it is not refundable.
A duplicate charge, or a payment taken for something that was never delivered, is always refunded in full. To ask for a refund, write to support@mehfilbox.com from the email address on your account. An approved refund goes back to the original payment method within five to seven working days.
You may stop using Mehfilbox at any time. A plan is not renewed unless you renew it, so there is nothing to cancel; what happens when a plan ends is set out below.
When a plan ends
A catalogue lapses at the end of its term and enters a grace period, during which the client can still download everything. After grace it is archived: streaming stops, files are retained, and paying restores it. A catalogue that has been handed over has its own grace period; once that has run out too, it is dormant — the client can still sign in, but downloading is paused until it is renewed or support restores it. Nothing is deleted because a plan lapsed — only a deliberate request, below, does that.
If a studio is gone
If a studio closes, stops paying past grace, or does not respond for a while after a lapse, the client may pay us directly at list price to keep their catalogue streaming. Once a catalogue has been handed over to a client, they may also renew it themselves at any time, whether or not their studio is still around — the studio remains billed by default, but this never leaves a client unable to act on a catalogue that is theirs.
Deleting your account
A studio or a client may delete their own Mehfilbox account at any time, from their own account settings. This is permanent, not a pause — unlike a plan simply lapsing, a deletion you ask for yourself erases the account and, with it, any catalogue it owns outright. A catalogue a studio has already handed over is the client’s alone and is never touched by the studio deleting itself; a catalogue a client is only linked to, still being prepared by a studio, is not affected by the client deleting their own account either. We keep what the law requires us to — a payment record, for instance — even after an account is gone. Deleting an account does not by itself refund anything already used.
Mehfilbox may also delete an account, or the data on it, on a lawful request that does not come from the account holder — a government authority, or someone’s authorised legal representative. Such a request is recorded, kept on file with whatever evidence was provided, and executed the same way a self-requested deletion is.
Suspending an account
We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, puts other people or the service at risk, or that the law requires us to act on. Where we can, we tell the account holder first and give them a chance to put it right. A suspension stops sign-in and changes; it does not delete anything, and lifting it restores the account as it was.
What we do not promise
We work to keep Mehfilbox available and your media safe, but we do not offer an uptime guarantee, and we are not a backup service — keep your own copy of the originals. Storage and delivery limits are those stated on the plan, read from our current price list rather than fixed in these terms, since a plan’s own details can change with notice the same way a price can. Mehfilbox is provided as it is, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost business, lost profit, or a dispute between a studio and its client — and our total liability to you for anything arising from Mehfilbox is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits a liability the law does not let us limit.
If something you upload, or the way you use Mehfilbox, leads to a claim against us by someone else, you agree to cover the loss that claim causes us.
Changes
Prices and terms can change with notice before a renewal. A term already paid for is not repriced partway through. Registering, claiming a catalogue, accepting a handover, or accepting a studio’s handed-back changes means accepting whichever version of these terms was current at that moment.
Grievance officer and contact
Questions, complaints, refund requests and reports of content that breaks these terms go to our grievance officer, Anmol Rathore, MEHFILBOX DIGITAL LLP, at support@mehfilbox.com or by post at Flat No. 302, A-Block, Alpine Eco Apartments, Mahadevapura, Bengaluru 560048, Karnataka, India. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
